McLachlan Construction & Remodeling has been a home builder in North Lake Tahoe, Reno and the Carson Valley since 1979. With over 30 years in the building profession, Curtis McLachlan has successfully taken on the challenges of a variety of construction projects, including a golf course club house, the Sparks B Street train, and two AM/PM Mini-Marts. He once built a house over the top of another house while the owners lived in it, then combined the two into one.

However, the centerpiece of his business has been designing and building custom Lake Tahoe homes on the water. As a four time award winner of the prestigious Washoe County Architectural Committee award for distinctive and excellence in design, he has gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience. In addition to his signature lodge design, he is experienced with remodeling projects from contemporary to traditional. Home remodeling, home additions, kitchen remodeling, and bathroom remodeling remain a vital part of the business. 

Since its inception, quality and responsibility have been the cornerstone of McLachlan Construction. Curtis and wife, Nancy, have become a unique team by creating their own distinctive flare, designing and building Old Tahoe style custom homes. With both partners having a passion for creative design, the use of unusual materials and textures are always brought into play. They are able to take basic styles and turn them into warm and inviting environments anyone would want to live in.

When Curtis is not working on a custom home, he is often creating custom classic automobiles.
